“It take a woman like you
To get through to the man in me”-Bob Dylan
I was enjoying spinning some records last night and Bob Dylan’s “The Man in Me” played. I’ve heard covers of it, but Bob does it best. The lyrics got me thinking of how I spend the majority of my time - in seclusion. I don’t go out trying to give my masculine energy away. I reserve it for you so that when you come, the fullness of who I am is all yours.
All.
Yours.

Five months ago, I started this new volume of songs to the ether.* I smile every day with each new song. No matter how long or short. No matter how hard or joyful. The deep knowledge that each one is yours, keeps me singing.
Keeps me composing.
Keeps me hoping.
With patience.
With gladness.
With readiness.
For you.

“And you can tell everybody this is your song.” -Elton John
Or in this case… songs. Do you hear them? Do you feel the beat of the rhythms meant for only you? Do you softly sing the melodies under your breath? I hope so. After all… each one of these songs to the ether belongs to you.
