Songs to the Ether

It’s been a gorgeous Saturday. This afternoon is shaping up to the perfect afternoon to lay in the grass and read, nap, or both. You should bring your current favorite book. I’ll bring the blanket and refreshments. We’ll lounge and watch the sunset. Oh yeah… and kiss. Always kissing.

It’s raining again.
It sounds so divine falling during the slow, silent morning. The only other sound I would love to break up trickling on the windows would be your voice.
Calling from another room.
or
Singing softly.
or
Laughing.
Before you curl up with me in a quiet moment of connection.

I’m playing hooky today (not really, I just took a day off) and I thought about what it would be like to play hooky with you. To blow off some adult responsibilities and have a “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” style day. Lunch, a museum, maybe me singing in the middle of a parade… Sounds fun. Let’s go!

There is something satisfying about putting your hands in the dirt of a garden. Hands that we often take for granted became a source of nurturing the life we place into the earth. The till and the toil may not always be easy, but worth it. Seeing colors open just because of your tender care or delighting in a fresh harvest because of your patience.
Our love will be like that of a garden - in need of nurturing, tending, and patience. To reap a deeper joy and connection worth the work. Together we’ll see our love bloom and we’ll delight. In each other. Always.
