Tonight

I asked the moon about you

For you are still among my stars

A memory shining in the darkness

After my fall back to the earth

I see you 

And remember

We were two poets igniting with words

We were two lovers burning with bodies

Hot and pure

Releasing the heavens within us 

And becoming celestial creatures

Holy and transcendent 

Climbing to our rightful place

In each other’s arms
